Maybe a friend shared a game link in Telegram, you tapped it, and a full game opened right inside the app. That was a Telegram Mini App. Mini App games are now a big part of Telegram, from quick tap games to deeper collection and strategy games. This guide explains what Telegram Mini Apps are, how they open, why they are easy to try, what to watch out for, and where Pixi Kingdom fits in. You don't need any technical knowledge to follow it.
A Mini App is a web app that runs inside Telegram. It usually starts from a bot: you open the bot's chat and tap its button or menu, or you follow a t.me link, and the app opens in a window over your chats. Developers build Mini Apps with ordinary web technology, while Telegram provides the window, the login and the payment screens. For you, that means one familiar place for chatting and playing, with your Telegram account as the key to both.
Because a Mini App loads from the web, there is nothing to download from an app store and nothing to update by hand. It works wherever Telegram works: Android, iPhone and iPad, Telegram Desktop on Windows, macOS and Linux, and Telegram Web. In most Mini App games, your progress is saved on the game's servers and linked to your Telegram account, so you can move from your phone to your computer and carry on. The only thing you need to keep updated is Telegram itself.
A Mini App runs in Telegram's own window and receives only the basic details Telegram shares with it, such as your name, username, language and user ID. It cannot read your chats. If an app wants more, like your phone number, Telegram asks you first, and you can say no. Inside Mini Apps, digital items are usually paid for with Telegram Stars on Telegram's own payment screen. All of this makes Mini Apps a low-risk way to try a new game. The real risks come from people, not the technology: fake bots and false promises.
Scammers copy the names and pictures of popular games. Before you play, check the exact @username, not just the display name, and use links from the game's official website or channel. Be careful with any bot or person that asks for your Telegram login code, a password or a wallet seed phrase: no real game needs them. Never send money to someone who promises to speed up your progress or unlock a prize. For Pixi Kingdom, the official game bot is @pixieland_io_bot and the official channel is @pixieland_io. Both still carry our former name, PixieLand.
Many Telegram games of the past few years were built around one promise: tap, collect points, and get paid later. Some of those promises never came true. A simple rule helps: treat a game as a game, and choose it because it is fun today, not for what it might pay tomorrow. Be careful with any app that promises guaranteed income or ways to “earn money”, asks you to invest, or says you must pay first to unlock a reward. In an honest game, prizes are always conditional: they depend on written rules, rankings and eligibility.
Telegram Stars are Telegram's own currency for buying digital items in bots and Mini Apps, and you buy them inside Telegram. TON is the blockchain closely linked to Telegram, and its coin is also called TON (Toncoin). Telegram Gifts are collectible gifts you can send to other users and show on your profile. Some games use these as prizes for their top players. Many games also have in-game currencies with similar names: in Pixi Kingdom, for example, Stars are an in-game currency, separate from Telegram Stars. No prize should ever be presented as guaranteed.
Mini App games come in many styles. Tap games are simple: you tap, a counter goes up, and you come back later to tap again. Collection and strategy games ask you for more decisions, such as which creatures to breed, what to build next and how to plan your day. Both have their fans. If you like farm games, merge puzzles or creature collecting games, you will probably enjoy the second kind, where your choices shape your progress and your collection becomes truly your own.
