Breeding is how your collection grows in Pixi Kingdom. Every new Pixi has its own gene, a code that decides its looks, its gender and its traits, so no two babies are quite the same. Pair the right parents and you improve your chances of a rarer Pixi, a favorite hat or a useful trait. This creature breeding guide explains what you need before you breed, how fees and rest work, what happens with the egg, how rarity, looks and traits are passed on, and how breed links let you breed with other players.
You need two Pixis that you own, one male and one female, and both must be ready. A Pixi is not ready while it is still an egg, out on a mission, listed on the marketplace, working in a workshop, or resting after its last breed. Newborn Pixis also need about an hour to grow up before their first breed; your welcome pair can breed right away. Each Pixi does one thing at a time, so decide which Pixis go on missions and work in workshops, and which ones stay home to breed.
Breeding costs Maple, and the fee is higher for rarer Pixis. You pay it first, on the Pixi's breed screen, before you choose a partner. After each breed, a Pixi needs to rest, and the rest grows longer every time it breeds. Some traits shorten that rest and others make it longer, so a Pixi with a short-rest trait is a valuable breeder. Breeding the same favorite Pixi again and again is not always the smartest plan: rotate your pairs to keep the eggs coming.
Each breed gives one egg. Nobody can see what is inside until it hatches. The egg hatches for free after a few hours, and if you can't wait, you can hatch it instantly with Stars or an egg-hatch booster. Remember that an egg takes a place in your team like any Pixi, so keep an eye on your Pixi Home slots. Hatching is one of the best moments in the game: it is where you meet a new face, a new rarity and new traits for the first time.
Pixis come in five rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary. A baby's rarity is rolled from its parents' rarities. Rarer parents improve the odds, but the lower-rarity parent counts more, so pairing a Legendary with a Common will not give you a Legendary every time. Two strong parents are better than one. Nothing is guaranteed, and that is part of the fun. Rarity matters: rarer Pixis bring back more Wood, help more in workshops and add more squad power. They also wear rarer things: special hats and tools from Uncommon, jewelry from Rare and a crown on a Legendary.
A Pixi's look is built from 10 parts: body, horn, ears, eyes, muzzle, tail, clothes, jewelry, hat and tools. For each part, the baby has a chance to copy one parent; otherwise it gets a fresh pick. Album families matter too. A parent wearing the hat or tool of the Workers, Bakers or Warriors album makes that family's items likelier in the baby. Traits pass on in a similar way. Every Pixi has 1 to 3 traits out of 18, and the parents' traits are likelier to appear. A Pixi never gets two opposite traits, such as faster and slower missions.
You don't need to own both parents. Share a breed link to your ready Pixi with a friend or in the players' group, and another player can breed one of their Pixis with yours. Each player pays their own fee. A coin flip decides who gets the egg, the other player gets a share of Maple, and both of you get triple PowerUp points for the breed. A link works once, so make a new one for each breed. Breed links are a great way to try a partner you don't own and to climb the weekly PowerUp league faster.
Unique Pixis are hand-made, one-of-one Pixis, and they breed differently. A Unique passes nothing of itself to the baby. Instead, its partner counts twice, and the baby's rarity odds improve. A Unique can breed only five times in total, and those breeds have no fee. That makes every Unique breed a big decision: choose a partner whose looks and traits you would love to see again in the next generation.
A new Pixi can do much more than breed. Send it on missions for Wood and Keys, or put it to work in a workshop. Merge it with another Pixi of the same rarity to level it up, and when you have two level-5 Pixis of the same rarity, a Merge Potion turns them into a brand-new Pixi one rarity higher. Uncommon and rarer Pixis can be sold on the marketplace, and the right ones can fill a slot in an album. Just remember that putting a Pixi into an album is permanent. New to the game?
